WHEN AND WHERE
The 251st Easter Sunrise Service will be held on Sunday,
April 9, 2023, beginning at 6:15 AM and will be led by the
Rev. Ginny Tobiassen, Chair of the Salem Congregation Central Board of Elders. Again this year, the service will include worshippers at the St Philips Second Graveyard.
Worshippers are invited to gather in Salem Square before the service - best to arrive early! Boy Scouts will be posted at various points to hand out the liturgy leaflet. The service will begin shortly after 6:15 am. After the intial liturgy, the congregation will process in prayerful silence to the Salem Moravian Graveyard, usually called "God's Acre." There the service will conclude among the equal stones of generations of Moravians as we celebrate and proclaim the resurrection.
HOSPITALITY STATION
There will be a hospitality station in front of the Belo
Home, serving sugar cake and coffee prior to the service this year. Thanks to the team from Trinity Moravian Church for hosting this station.
